The type of gate operator to before any particular installation is specified according to the style of gate, i.e. side-hinged or sliding. For side hinged gates there are two types of hydraulic operator available, one fixed to the back of the gate leaf and the other installed in the ground below the gate hinges.

For sliding gates, an electromechanical operator is installed. This works on a rack and pinion system.

All operators are controlled by one of Guardians sophisticated control boxes.

They can be operated by a number of different methods including remote controlled via a hand transmitter, key switch, induction loop vehicle detection. For more information view our range of control actuators

Installation Details

Estate gates can be fixed to most solid brick built piers. We supply heavy duty hinge plates which are most suitable for this type of surface mounting. The ideal installation for our entrance gates is the building in of RSJ's. This is especially so for the Automatic gates in our range, which we would supply complete with hinge pins, drive plates and spacer gauge bar, for correct alignment.

Entrance Gate Specifications

All entrance gates are constructed from 40 mm section. Pattern Bars from 20mm section, spaced at 127mm. Dog bars from 16mm section. Final scrolls from 40 x 12 mm hand forged. Top scrolls from 20 x 6 mm or to suit individual custom design.

Patent Adjustable Hinges available on request on all double gates and large Single Gates. Two dropbolts, lockable in closed position, with a latch drilled to take additional padlock if required.

Locks

All entrance gates may be fitted with our galvanised two bolt gate lock. This comes complete with cast iron octagonal door furniture and two keys.

Railings

All railings are constructed from flat 40 x 10 mm with either 20mm sq section or 20mm diameter section at 5" or 128mm.

Special Features

Family crests, name plates, house numbers or any special feature can be added to any of our estate gates, to enhance and personalise them to clients own requirements.

Finishing

All Entrance Gates and railings are shot blasted, red oxide primed and eggshell black undercoated. We recommend that they are top coat painted as soon as possible after installation . Use a paint suitable for exterior quality metalwork. Care should be taken when painting to ensure a good coat is applied to all areas, especially scrollwork and joints.
